now before I explain please don’t say OMG that’s so bad for you.. anyway, I’m 14 and I have really big thighs. like ew. I want to starve myself or at least only have one meal a day. I go to school and there are girls who are so skinny and petite. I want that. please comment any tips! or experiences. thanks!
Starving will not help.
Your body will start cannibalizing itself. You want to remove fat tissue, but your body will start eating way at the muscle mass.
You need to learn how to cook and eat properly. Talk to your school nurse about creating a menu for you family to use. It is not a “diet.” It is what you should be eating in the first place.
Once you get that down, then you will see the results you want.
I know it is counter-intuitive to what you expect, but that is how it really is.
Starving not the trick, exercising and toning down is your answer. These girls don’t starve themselves they probably are small framed. Your beatiful and don’t realize this, as a child thru teen I hated because I was skinny while all the other girls had nice shapes. So you have a nice shape and don’t realize it don’t. put yourself down. Toning down legs are with stretching and some jogging it will take a while and you will notice it and don’t even think starving is the answer.
Yea it will make you gain weight, I don’t want you to be anorexic I care about you even if I don’t know you but if your really committed take vitamins and drink lots of water.I use to eat less because I use to be depressed and lost a lot of weight through that experience I noticed that becoming a vegetarian makes you healthier andmakes you lose weight .Its not good to starve yourself trust me it just makes your life harder once you fix that problem you’ll go on to a next ,stop being ignorant and realize that you are perfect and that there are much more thicker people out there.Be the person with confidence that loves their self that’s who people adore most.
Look, starving won’t help in the long run. Will you starve your whole life to keep the shape? No, you won’t. You can’t. I developed anorexia as a result of stress and obsessive tendencies. I was so stressed from pressure out on me at school that the only thing I could control was my weight. I wanted that to be perfect, so I ate less and less and ended up losing about 15 pounds. I started at 105 and ended up around 90, and on a small frame, you see every pound gained or lost. It controlled my life and I was never happy. I just wanted to eat something, but that would be losing control. Please don’t start that. It ruins your life. I got help and learned better ways to deal with pressure. If you do want to lose weight, go on the paleo diet or go vegetarian/minimal meat (meat 2x a week) and only eat whole foods, nothing from a package. Come up with an exercise program, like walking or yoga. Be for and beautiful, not a walking skeleton.
I starved myself for 3 to 4 months in 7th grade, only eating once a week. I lost 30 pounds and did a lot of damage to my body, and also found it very hard to view myself positive afterwards and I had a lot of problems with eating after that, I would eat better, gain weight back, and stop again. I now have problems with acid reflex and problems with my throat. it took a long time for me to be able to eat normally as well because eating just once a week hurt my throat so bad. I had another friend who did this in high school and began loosing her hair and a few of her teeth rotted (she had been doing it much longer than me). I have always had wide hips, starving won’t get rid of that. If you’re built wide, or naturally carry weight there, it’s quicker, easier. And much healthier for your body to just walk or run, or do squats. Trust me, it’s not worth it. When you stop eating, your metabolism slows and you end up putting in weight much faster. After dealing with that on and off for a few years, I ended up gaining around 60 pounds while trying to go back to normal and I just had to eat healthy and work out to get that to stop. A really great thing to do is rather than not eating, eat fruits and veggies instead. They have low calories, they have good vitamins, sugars and fats. They help to boost your metabolism to lose weight faster and give you more energy. Plus, you won’t get sick from it. Please don’t not starve yourself. I understand looking at girls and not feeling confident, but really beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. You should love yourself and rather than try to look like them, be happy with yourself. Most really skinny girls would love to have wider hips. And a lot of people think it’s more attractive when you have curves.
okay, i won’t tell you that it’s unhealthy, but let me tell you this: starving doesn’t work, i’ve tried it for about a year. i remember eating very little each day, and you know what happens? your body thinks you’re starving, and takes every single calorie and tries to store it, because it thinks you’re starving to death.
this method will actually make you gain MORE calories (personal experience).

When you’re trying to lose weight…. Don’t skip breakfast! If you do, the resulting hunger may actually cause you to eat more than you would otherwise. Drink a large glass of water before each meal. It will curb your appetite and help you control how much you eat.
Did you know. . . ? Some experts warn that if you starve yourself to shed pounds, your body may shift into “crisis mode,” slow down your metabolism, and quickly cause you to regain any weight you’ve lost! Therefore, a reasonable eating program, balanced with moderate but regular exercise, will help you look and feel your best. Moderate aerobics several times a week will work wonders for your health. Something as simple as a brisk walk or stair climbing may suffice.
Starving won’t help long term, and will lead to horrible medical problems. When you go into starvation mode, your metabolism slows and causes you to store even more fat. The weight will pile on once you start eating again. Plus, starvation can mess up your acid/base balance and lead to ketoacidosis, and eventually death.
Your best bet is to avoid processed food, and even several small healthy meals a day. This will INCREASE your metabolism and help you LOSE weight.
