When I get 5 teeth pulled, will they numb me, or put me to sleep?

I should be getting 5 teeth pulled soon. 1 baby canine tooth, then my 4 pre-molars. I’m really curious on this because I’m scared to be getting teeth pulled… Will I get the option to choose or not.?

You will be so numb you won’t feel a thing. And tell your dentist that you are terrified, they will bend over backwards to make you as comfortable as possible. You can ask them if they do sedation dentistry.

I had to get four teeth pulled and they put me to sleep. When they put me to sleep they put a needle in my arm, but they gave me laughing gas before they put it in my arm.

The simple answer is to ask the doctor/dentist. Be prepared for swelling and some after pain. If you can find a homeopathic supplier in your area, as them for a treatment for surgery. It helped me immensely.

One time I’ve gotten my 4teeth pulled. The dentist numbed me: I’ve had no pain whatsoever and, they numbed me 4times: 2on each side. – I hope they put you too sleep. You have the option to be on anesthesia or, becoming numb.

I agree with all previous answers. Last October I had 8 teeth pulled and dentures the same day. The dentist did have to give me more numbing shots. The dentist should ask questions and you should also ask any questions to make you more comfortable. Eight teeth is all I had left on top of my mouth. I would do it all over again if I had to:)

Dentists have tools that will keep you pain free during the extractions, so don’t worry about that. I think what Okay meant about hurting a lot was if you pulled teeth without Novocain it would hurt a lot. Your “baby teeth” don’t have big roots, so they come out more easily than teeth you get when those are gone. It’ll be alright, the doc will take care of you.

That many teeth to be pulled at once is not normal. What will most likely happen is that your going to have to go in 5 separate times. One tooth at a time with freezing. And you can ask to be put to sleep but that’s reserved for more complicated procedures.

Pulling teeth is not such a big deal any more. I had 24 teeth pulled in one sitting and there was no discomfort, except I couldn’t talk with a mouth full of gauze.

Get calcium pills and take a day’s dose with each meal for a couple of days before the appointment. Calcium is nature’s pain controller. There is no overdose and the only side effect is strong bones.

Approaching the unknown first, Stop, go to your future self turn around and look at where you are right now. You can do this because many people have without problems its a proven fact. Think about what your going to do afterwards. I mean weeks from now. Your going to take a deep breath and then just go to sleep. When you wake up everything will be fine. I promise.

Depends on your dentist explain how you feel and see what methods he or she will used. They usually numb area and then give you shot in area where tooth needs to be extracted from. Just had couple removed this past week am not one which likes needles but it went well and no swelling. She was an awesome dentist who talked as she was working on extractions and made me feel comfortable. It will be fine for you, they will go over a few things to reassure you what their. The numbing will last about maybe 1 1/2 give or take.
