Can anyone say me that cold sores on lip can be cured forever? I suffered from herpes as a young child, now 15 years of being herpes free I began suffering from them again. I have a very noticeable herpes on my upper lip now.
Any methods to help prevent from a herpes outbreak. Please help!

I have suffered with cold sores type 2 for about 3 years, and I know it’s likely to make it worse without having the correct way to heal it.

There is no way to get rid of cold sores. The only thing you can do is to keep it dry and not moist. Don’t put anything on it and be sure to not touch it.
I get herpes a couple of times in a year. My father always told me to use milk of magnesia what you do is you grab a clean Q-tip and put it on the herpes and leave it alone it dries it out.
You could use anti-viral tablets or creams. Tablets could reduce the symptoms of herpes but only if you use them in a very early stage before the blisters have formed. The cream hasn’t been proven to reduce the symptoms of herpes.
