You do NOT get addicted to marijuana. More propaganda and scare tactics. Some people with addictive personalities may get psychologically addicted, but they would get addicted to any substance they used. There is absolutely no addictive substance in marijuana to cause physical addiction, and there are no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever.
I might also mention that marijuana has been quite effectively used for centuries as a medicinal herb. In fact it’s been used more for that than for recreational use. And doctors are only now starting to realize the wide range of medicinal uses it has.
It’s far less harmful than alcohol.
There is one negative effect of marijuana. While I am an advocate of legalization, one has to be truthful. There is harm in the form of smoke. Inhaling the smoke of any burned substance into your lungs can cause harm. It’s less harmful than tobacco, but there is a risk factor.
Learn the truth about marijuana, not the propaganda and lies. But what would you expect concerning a harmless herb that grows naturally everywhere in the world, and which was originally made illegal by liquor companies flooding people’s minds with propaganda giving the impression of big marijuana crazed black men raping poor little white girls under the influence of the ‘killer’ drug. When the truth is, marijuana has less inebriating effects than alcohol.
Yes, I used to smoke. I enjoyed smoking. No, I haven’t smoked in more than twenty years. The simple truth is, when using marijuana ceased enhancing my life and creativity, it was no longer useful to me, so why bother. I never had used it for purely recreational purposes. I realize that, given my disabilities and various physical problems, it probably would have some benefits for me, but not enough to make it worth my while. I already take enough meds from my doctor. I’d prefer not to add more to that list. I did return to its use for a brief time when I had to have chemo. It seriously helped with the nausea and stimulating the appetite so that I was able to eat enough to remain healthy.
Marijuana will be legalized. Get over it. But if you’re going to use it, also use your head. Use it responsibly and safely. THINK about what you’re doing. Don’t drive under the influence. Don’t be a ‘hey, watch this’ dude. Be responsible.
