Do I have a phobia?

I tend to cringe at the sight of

1) a knife being held to someone’s throat(even when it has not been cut open to allow blood to gush out of their throat resulting in immediate death)

2) when I open my hand I’m not sure what it’s called but that gap in between your fingers(I fear paper-cutting myself accidentally there)

3) wrists just looking at them and feeling mine makes me feel weird or the back of my knee as well

Is that normal?

No you don’t have a phobia. Phobias affect you to the point you cannot properly function. My husband has a phobia about crossing bridges. If he knows he has to drive across a bridge, he needs to take anti-anxiety meds before leaving. When we travel I drive and he lays down in the back of our SUV so he cannot see the bridges. What you mentioned are just things that make you uncomfortable.

Some people are more sensitive than others. The first on your list creeps me out too. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Just a few quirks:)

I have an anxiety disorder which used to involve phobias so I know that you don’t have to SEARCH for reasons to believe you have a phobia. They’re so vicious that they find you. They interfere with your everyday life. Knives at people’s throats is a rational fear and everyone feels weird about certain body sensations. I know a lot of people who hate the sound of cracking knuckles and hate their ankles touching together. But they don’t have phobias. Watch the episode of Monk when Mr. Monk’s brother won’t go outside because he has a phobia of the outdoors… his house is also on fire. He would rather be inside with a fire than outside with his phobia. Agoraphobia is what I had and every time someone opened a window or a door I would hyperventilate and nearly pass out from fear. It doesn’t sound to me like you have a phobia.

Yes, normal.. everyone has their “things” about them. Freaks me out too thinking about some of the stuff we think about as people sometimes.

This can be refered to many reasons and the phobia isn’t one of them, some people have this ability of paying attention to details and analysing possibilities, try to use this ability in something useful
